'Obvious,' a teacher of mine said
In our field, the term is near derogatory
It is considered a waste of time pointing out what we all know to be true
But if such a thing is true, and obvious even,
how come in that person's life
it's not obvious, but hidden
perhaps, forgotten
And so I resolve to keep on stating the obvious
to people who agree with their heads and stop there
I will speak the obvious
until its truth is seen
not just in ideals but in actions
