Richard dawkins is a human and doesnt have super powers. God is all powefull with super powers and can do anything (aparently).
If god did want to reveal himself he could. It even says so in the bible that he has many times in the past to people. Including Moses, Adam and EVE. Amoung many others.
YOu would have to be thick to wonder why no body else has seen him in the "flesh" so to speak for 2000 years. And even thicker to still think its anything more than a made up story.
Hello FluffyDuck. It's good to see a new comment there after some time :)
Point 1. TheFluffyDuck says:
"God is all powefull with super powers and can do anything (aparently). If god did want to reveal himself he could."
Exactly. And if He did *not* want to reveal Himself? He could act accordingly as well.
You have free will, don't you? You can choose to talk or not to talk to someone. Or, you can choose when or how to talk.
*IF* God is real, is it not possible that He can choose as well?
*IF* He created people with free will, is it not possible that He has free will as well?
*IF* God is all-powerful-with-superpowers-and-can-do-anything-apparently, is it not possible that He can see us even if we can't see Him?
In short, we both agree that God is all-powerful, and yes He always can reveal Himself. But sometimes He will, sometimes will not, sometimes will not yet. (Even if we want Him to. Again, who's more powerful, God or us?) More in Point 3.
Point 2. TheFluffyDuck says:
"It even says so in the bible that..."
i commend you for looking at the Bible itself and citing the (seeming) inconsistencies there. Other atheists (including i myself in the past) would discard the idea of a Biblical God simply because the truth does not agree with our own beliefs. :)
But if you're going to base your arguments on the Bible you have to look closer.
(a) God did "walk" with Adam and Eve in Eden, the reason He created humans in the first place. Yet He cast them out of Eden when they deliberately disobeyed. Since then, all humanity cannot walk with Him as easily as before. But thankfully God also provided a way for us to enter His Presence once again, by trusting in Jesus as the only one who saves us from our sins and the only one to obey and emulate.
(b) Moses talked with God "face to face" yet some scholars say this may just be figurative: "He made known his ways to Moses, his wonderful deeds unto the children of Israel." (Psalm 103:7) (Meaning, Moses (only?) got more in-depth revelation than just manna in the desert.) But figurative or not, more in Point 3.
Point 3. TheFluffyDuck says:
"YOu would have to be thick to wonder why no body else has seen him in the "flesh" so to speak for 2000 years.
You ask for general, worldwide revelation. We have the Bible, available to all and which claims to be directly inspired by God.
You ask for a manifestation "in the flesh". Both Old and New Testaments speak of God as Spirit, but in Jesus, "the Word was made flesh".
You ask why no one else has seen God in the past two millennia.
(a) The historical existence and implications of the life of Jesus --- Son of God and Son of Man --- have been rigidly documented by both Christian and non-Christian sources. He literally walked the earth for a limited time before sending His disciples out with His message. He promises to return, physically, in glory, at a time "known only to the Father".
(b) People who lived before and after the time of Jesus have been encountered by God in the form of the Holy Spirit, speaking to them and working through them. Miracles --- "events inexplicable by the laws of nature" (Roget's II: The New Thesaurus) --- are documented from Biblical times until the present day.
Let us end with your starting words:
Ahh Yes, THe sarcastic mind of an idiot is better than all the stand-up comics in the world combined.
There is a fatal flaw in that piss poor attempt at logic...
Yes i see that. Don't forget the various errors in spelling, capitalization and punctuation. :) Take care, and hope to hear from you again :)
