don't wait until these words become your last...

these are pretty deep wonderful aw-shucks last words. but then again, don't wait until your very last breath to say them out loud! :)

"My queen!
...
My wife...
...
...
My love."

Yes, yes, these are King Leonidas' last words in the movie "300". honestly, i had a hard time trying to relate how i can put that in this "God-blog" of mine :)

too selfish eh?

but actually, i do thank God that i'm not a man-hater anymore :) so there. :) especially since only three months ago i realized how deep gender issues struck to my very core...

pretty interesting, too, because in another movie these are the last words someone told someone before someone died. (did someone say x-men 3: the last stand? ;p) hahaha. my favorite character and i were still man-haters back then. (my my my! that was less than a year ago!)

so i digress. or maybe not...

lesson for the guys: don't wait until the last moment to say you love her.

lesson for the gals: don't wait until the last moment to let yourself love him. or to admit it even.

wow, am too cheesy! ;p but someone has to blog about it... ;D

... ah.. but just because he (Leonidas) only says it at the end, doesn't mean he never did say it (or mean it).

... notice his final instructions to delios, in which he says (regarding the queen), there is nothing more to say, "nothing that needed to be spoken".

... and in the comics (in the scene of their first parting, Gorgo and Leonidas), he doesn't say it because both of them already know.

... my take on it is that, he wanted to go out thinking of her.

the way it was portrayed in the movie, it sounded like an cry of desperation, rather than a hopeful one, in which no matter what happens, his wife will have the fortitude to endure in the future.

  4. alryt, on with the cheesy-ness! (i'm not the only one! thanks dael!!!!)

this is why we should read the comics as well :D

yup yup it looked like this desperate cry --- and as if he only realized/admitted it then! that's how it looked to me at least (and i watched it twice na, hihi!)...

    also,

#1. when leo instructed delios, he said "let nothing be spoken"? not necessarily there was nothing that needed to be said. it's as if "er, um, never mind..." again that's how it seemed to me...

#2. when gorgo and leo parted, delios was narrating "there's no room for softness...only the hard and strong can be called Spartans..." and so on.

oh well. i'll look into the comics and see which version is better. but the movie really rocks :D

    p.s. DAEL! you reading this! c u 2m!!!
