so sad it was just a phase...
although the complete story would only be known between God and him...
a sobering wake-up call for all of us. is this just a phase for me? for someone i know? or did we really sincerely accept Jesus in the first place?
and please don't underestimate the IMPORTANCE of spiritual follow-up. care for your everyone who's new in Christ! they are as vulnerable as babies, and we're dealing here with spiritual life and death...!

we cannot do anything about John Lennon anymore; his entire fate is literally in God's hands now. but we CAN do something about our friends, our family, even strangers.
God is all-powerful but He gave each of us the freedom to follow Him or not.
don't let the enemy and his agents snatch away any more souls from God.

i wrote that precisely because he is already dead and his life will be judged by the Ultimate Judge.
ReplyDeletethe question remains, is john lennon saved or not? once he accepted Jesus back then, will God still judge him righteous even if lennon eventually turned away? did lennon return to God shortly before his death?
these are things that we don't know. lennon's relationship with God is only between lennon and God; lennon's eternal fate is literally in God's hands. (this is true for any person's individual relationship with God and his/her ultimate eternal fate, whether we get shot or not.)
so again, it all sounds tragic, what happened to his physical body and what probably/implied will happen to his soul, and ultimately each person has to make the choice for himself/herself, but what we can do to help others is to not let people stay ignorant of God nor to let them fall away.
